Salary: Starting at $85,000 (based on experience and qualifications)


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 3–5 years of relevant experience, OR
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Foundational knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP preferred)

About the Role

The Project Manager (IT) is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to ensure successful completion within defined timelines and budgets. This role oversees all phases of assigned projects, ensuring quality delivery, stakeholder satisfaction, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules and budgets
  • Establish timelines and ensure adherence to project milestones
  • Conduct site visits and support bid preparation for new opportunities
  • Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers; perform estimates and takeoffs

Contract & Financial Management

  • Negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Prepare and manage subcontract agreements and procurement documentation
  • Develop and negotiate change order proposals
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices
  • Support invoice preparation and financial tracking

Project Oversight & Coordination

  • Review submittals, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure proper job documentation is prepared, submitted, and maintained
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Provide regular project updates to senior management

Team Leadership & Support

  • Lead, train, and motivate project teams and site personnel
  • Conduct site briefings and staff orientations
  • Provide guidance throughout project execution
  • Facilitate meetings and resolve project-related issues

Quality Assurance & Closeout

  • Ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards
  • Resolve technical and vendor-related challenges
  • Oversee submission of all closeout documentation

Authority

  • Authority to sign contracts and modifications as delegated in proposals
  • Approve non-project-related expenditures up to $500
  • Approve project-related expenditures up to $100,000

For assigned projects, the Project Manager has authority to:

  • Make day-to-day decisions regarding scope, cost, schedule, quality, and communications
  • Facilitate meetings and project discussions
  • Act as a company representative in negotiating contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders
  • Exercise direct authority over site personnel
  • Approve change orders and additional equipment outside original scope

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of project budgeting and accounting principles
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle and delivery processes
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify risks and critical success factors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and drive outcomes

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 preferred
  • Strong mathematical aptitude

Software Proficiency

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Internet browsers and applications
  • WinZip and file management tools
  • Graphics software and Dell applications preferred

Equipment Utilization

  • Standard office equipment (computers, printers, scanners, copiers)
  • Mobile devices (cell phone)
  • Broadband internet, routers, and LAN connectivity
  • Job site equipment as required
